Jane Seymour files for legal separation from husband of 20 years

When legally married couples in Florham Park, as well as other localities throughout the U.S., decide to split up, it can take time to settle all of the details and finalize their divorce. In order to protect the rights of each spouse while the process is being completed, some couples may choose to file for legal separation.

According to reports, actress, Jane Seymour, recently filed for legal separation from her husband, actor/director, James Keach. The couple, which had been married for over 20 years, announced their decision to split several months ago, but the recent filing makes it official. Seymour reportedly listed “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their separation, but no specific details as to the cause for the split were released.

In her request for separation, it was reported that Seymour asked that she and her estranged husband share joint custody of their twin sons. The boys are 17-years-old. While it was not indicated whether Seymour would be asking for child support, the actress is reportedly not asking for any spousal support. It remains unknown to the public at this time if Keach will acquiesce to Seymour’s requests, or if he will file a petition of his own.

If you, like Seymour and Keach, have decided to separate from your spouse, it may be of benefit for you to consult with an attorney. A lawyer can explain your options and help you to determine the best course of action for your situation, as well as address any other concerns that you might have.
